NAIDOC Week, celebrated from 6–13 July 2025, is a special time for our school and wider community to honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year marks the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week, with the theme "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy". It’s a powerful reminder of the resilience and wisdom of Indigenous communities and the importance of empowering young leaders to carry forward the legacy of their Elders. For our students, NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to learn about Australia’s First Nations cultures in meaningful and respectful ways.
Throughout the week, our school engaged in activities that celebrate Indigenous heritage, including storytelling, art, music, and discussions that highlight the values of respect, unity, and self-determination. These experiences help children build a deeper understanding of the rich cultural tapestry that shapes our nation and encourage them to become thoughtful and inclusive members of society. As we walk together toward a future guided by strength, vision, and legacy, we are working towards a more reconcciled Australian society.
