University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) is an explicit and systematic program designed to introduce students to the foundational reading skills necessary for proficient reading.
At Our Lady of Dolours, UFLI is seamlessly incorporated into the Early Years classrooms to ensure that every child develops strong literacy skills from the start. Through engaging and structured lessons, students are taught essential components such as phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Teachers use a variety of interactive activities and resources to make learning enjoyable and effective. By integrating UFLI into our curriculum, we provide a solid foundation for our young learners, setting them up for success in their reading journey.
