Welcome to Our Lady of Dolours School

For more than 75 years, Our Lady of Dolours Primary School has proudly provided a quality Catholic education for families within our parish and the wider community. Established in 1951 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, our school is deeply grounded in the Benedictine tradition of love, service and welcome, and continues to be guided by the compassionate care of Mother Mary.
As Principal, I feel a strong personal connection to our Good Samaritan heritage. Central to our Catholic identity are the foundational pillars of living, loving and learning — symbolised through the vine, the rose and the book. These pillars guide all that we do and shape a learning environment where students are nurtured to develop a strong sense of purpose, faith and service. Through this foundation, our students are empowered to live lives of meaning, generosity and contribution — serving their school, one another and the wider community.
At Our Lady of Dolours, we are committed to fostering a love of learning and supporting each child to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Our students are encouraged to think deeply, engage courageously with the complexities of the world, and develop as faith‑filled, creative and respectful learners who take action for the common good.
Our passionate and professional teaching staff embrace contemporary, evidence‑informed teaching practices and differentiate learning to meet the needs of every student. Student growth, wellbeing and happiness are central to our work, and we value strong partnerships with parents and our parish in supporting each child’s educational journey. This work is further strengthened by our dedicated support staff, who ensure students are provided with the care, resources and encouragement needed for a rich and inclusive learning experience.
Connection and community are at the heart of Our Lady of Dolours. I value the strong relationships we share with our parents and alumnae, recognising their important role in the life of our school. Through meaningful collaboration and shared initiatives, we continue to build a supportive and connected school community that enriches the experience of all.
Our school motto, Living, Loving and Learning in Christ, is lived authentically through our commitment to social justice — a cornerstone of a Good Samaritan education. Through outreach opportunities and service initiatives, students and staff work together to support those in need within our local and broader community.
We are proud to offer a comprehensive co‑curricular program that enables students to explore and develop their interests and talents across sport, culture and academic pursuits. I firmly believe that student wellbeing is fundamental to academic success, and participation in these opportunities supports the development of confidence, resilience and a well‑rounded education.
I warmly invite you to explore our website and learn more about our Good Samaritan tradition, vibrant school life, and our extensive curricular and co‑curricular offerings.
