Faith and Formation
At Our Lady of Dolours, education is centred on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. We are a faith community where learning is shaped by Gospel values and where students are supported to grow in faith, knowledge and relationships. Catholic education seeks to form the whole person by developing heart, mind and spirit, and invites each student to understand their purpose and place in the world.
Quality Learning and Teaching
Learning and teaching are built on high expectations for all students. Our school delivers the Australian Curriculum alongside Religious Education, ensuring that academic, spiritual and personal growth are connected. Evidence based teaching supports each student to learn, make progress and experience wellbeing. A focus on equity and excellence enables all students to grow and flourish in their learning.
Social Justice and Action
Formation is lived through action. Students are invited to respond to the Gospel by recognising the dignity of every person and acting with compassion. Catholic social justice is embedded in school life, where students engage in service and outreach, learn about fairness and responsibility, and contribute to a more just society.
Benedictine and Good Samaritan Values
Our approach is shaped by the example of St Benedict and the Good Samaritan. From St Benedict, students learn the importance of community, respect and shared responsibility. The Good Samaritan calls each person to notice the needs of others and respond with care. These traditions guide daily interactions and support a culture of service, hospitality and care for others.
Community and Purpose
Families, staff and parish work together to support each student’s growth. This partnership builds a shared commitment to learning, wellbeing and formation. The Catholic school difference is seen in the integration of faith, learning and life, where students are encouraged to act with integrity and contribute to society. Through this, education prepares young people for a life of meaning, service and engagement in the world.
Welcoming and Inclusive
At Our Lady of Dolours, we welcome families who are seeking a faith-based education within a caring and inclusive community. We celebrate diversity and are committed to ensuring every student feels a genuine sense of belonging. Our inclusive approach supports students of all backgrounds, abilities and experiences, recognising the unique gifts each child brings to our school. We are committed to supporting all learners and promoting the dignity of every individual.
Affordability
Our Lady of Dolours strives to provide a high-quality Catholic education that is accessible to families in our community. We are committed to keeping fees as affordable as possible while maintaining excellent learning and teaching experiences.
In keeping with our values, we are dedicated to ensuring that no child is excluded due to financial circumstances. Families experiencing difficulty are encouraged to speak confidentially with the Principal so that appropriate support can be offered with care and understanding.
