At Our Lady of Dolours, we support student learning through a Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS) that ensures every child is known, valued and responded to appropriately. This approach recognises that students learn at different rates and in different ways, and that learning needs may change over time. All students benefit from high‑quality classroom teaching, while some may require additional support or enrichment at different points in their learning journey.
Teachers regularly monitor student progress through planned assessments, classroom observations and learning conversations. This information is reviewed through ongoing cycles of data analysis and reflection to identify next steps in learning. Support may include differentiated classroom tasks, targeted teaching, or personalised adjustments to ensure students can access learning and be appropriately challenged. Students who demonstrate strengths or readiness for extension are provided with enrichment opportunities that deepen understanding and promote growth. Through this responsive and inclusive approach, we work in partnership with families to help every child thrive.
