Eco Marines

This year, our passionate Eco Marine Ambassadors have been leading the way in protecting our environment both at school and in our wider community.

Our students have organised fantastic projects this year, including the Sustainability Club, where they craft using recycled materials, and Go Green Day, where everyone wore green and learnt practical ways to care for the world around us. Next up, they’re working on a “Wrapper Free” Recipe Book to help parents pack waste-free, healthy snacks. These wonderful initiatives have reached beyond our school gates, making a positive impact on local Kindies, Nudgee Beach Wetlands and Tangalooma. We couldn’t be prouder of our Eco Marine Ambassadors and the difference they’re making.

Chloe's inspiring article was featured in the September edition of the Eco Marines Foundation Newsletter! She beautifully captures what it means to be an EcoMarine:

Chloe’s article

This year, I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to be an EcoMarines Ambassador for Our Lady of Dolours School.
To be an EcoMarines means that we protect the environment, foster our ecosystems, and teach others more about the environment and how we can protect it.

Some of the projects we have done this year are the sustainability club, where we make crafts out of recycled materials, and a Go Green Day, where students wore green and learnt more about protecting the environment. In the future, we are planning to make a "Wrapper Free" Recipe Book to give parents ideas of waste-free snacks to put in their child's lunch box.
