On Tuesday 19 June students from Years Three and Six took a trip to the Brisbane Botanical Gardens.
The Year Three class undertook a geography task, which included exploring how environments are similar and different – ranging from Rainforest Areas to Arid Areas from around the world. Students had a great time exploring the gardens during their field study, as well as the beautiful Japanese Garden after their study session.
Year Six students explored adaptations in plants, in particular, rainforest plants. They investigated the formation of leaves to reduce mould growth, along with the many types of emergent plant growth fighting for sunlight in the dense rainforest. Year Six students also had an amazing time exploring the gardens and digging for insects in the ground cover during their science session.
