70 Years Reunion

On Sunday 23 May, 2021, we held the first of our 70th Anniversary celebrations, hosting staff and students who attended our school in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Fittingly, we commenced the morning with 10:00 am Mass, before moving to the school for the official welcome and a rendition of our school song by the choir. Our P&F did a great job in preparing and serving morning tea for our visitors.

It was truly heart-warming to see our guests – most of whom attended Our Lady of Dolours in its first decade, the 1950s – catching up with old friends and reminiscing about times past. Despite the 70-year difference, I strongly suspect that their stories are not much different to the ones our current students will be telling in the years ahead… stories of friendship, community, and occasional mischief.

We have been contacted by several attendees to let us know how much they enjoyed their day.

Our thanks to everyone who contributed to this wonderful gathering – our P&F and parent volunteers, staff, and students.

On Sunday 12 September, 2021 we will be holding a Green Fair to further celebrate our 70 Years.
We will be searching for students and staff from all the past 70 years to help us celebrate and to reunite.
