xcountry_allen_lge.jpgCongratulations to all of our fantastic students who represented OLD at the Zone 4 Cross Country Carnival on 1 June 2011. A total of forty-six of our students attended, and, looking resplendent in their new red sports uniforms, competed against approximately 500 other students from nine other local Catholic schools.

It was great to see such commitment and enthusiasm from our students, who exhibited real determination to complete their distances over the hilly and soggy terrain at Teralba Park.

A special mention goes to Allen who finished first out of sixty competitors in the Junior Boys race and to Ethan and Liam who came second and third respectively in their divisions in the Senior and Intermediate Boys races.

It was a fantastic effort by our students, and it is a great credit to each and every one of them that they were able to complete this event and to also provide such vocal support for their schoolmates.

Mr Crawford is immensely grateful to Mrs Hansen and Miss Chard for their outstanding efforts in coaching our Cross Country runners at Kilometre Club over the months, leading up to the event and have no doubt that our students’ success yesterday was due largely to their expertise, enthusiasm and dedication.

Mr Crawford also sincerely thanks Mrs Weale, Mrs Cooper and Mrs Burnham who, along with Mrs Hansen, helped record and collate the scores at the carnival.
