As part of their Science unit, the students in Year Two learnt about the life cycles of living things. Sandie, a special visitor from Bunnings at Toombul, came to work with the children to plant a vegetable garden at the front of our school. They also potted their own individual plants to observe in the classroom.
The children learnt all about what the vegetables needed to grow and how to best care for their plants. They also learnt that some will drop seeds and grow again! It was interesting to discover that the potting containers we used for our plants in the classroom were biodegradable, so when the plants are ready we can put the whole container into the garden.
